HONORS, AWARDS, & OTHER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES Dr. Burke is a recipient of the prestigious, "Order of the Long Leaf Pine." Bestowed by the Governor of North Carolina, this honor is awarded to persons for exemplary service to the State of North Carolina and communities that is above and beyond the call of duty, and has made a significant impact and strengthened North Carolina. In 2011, Dr. Burke was granted an Honorary Lifetime Membership to the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) for his work in helping to establish the Association. Also, he is a "Fellow Emeritus" in AASP. Dr. Burke has received college awards for teaching, as well as scholarship/research, and won an award for teaching while in graduate school.
